25+ years of experience in Teaching English as a Second Language
Màiri teaches English as a foreign language in Italy at the University of Bologna, Italy. Originally from the UK, Màiri began her teaching career in Spain in 2001. Since then she has taught students at all levels and ages, and worked at the British Council as well as the University of Barcelona. She was also a Cambridge examiner for many years.
Màiri began teaching online during the pandemic and became obsessed with Artificial Intelligence for teaching and learning purposes as soon as it came out. To encourage her students to work autonomously – but responsibly - she began to experiment with prompts so they could practise their English on their own. Her students loved these prompts so much that she decided to publish a collection.
Màiri's qualifications include:
Italian MA Hons from The University of Edinburgh
Cambridge CELTA from Stevenson College, Edinburgh
Cambridge Delta Modules 1 & 2 from The Cambridge School, Verona
Cambridge Delta Module 3 from International House, London
Master’s in Education in TESOL (EAP) from Sheffield Hallam University
Notice. Practise. Progress.
